This award will be given to a lawyer, nominated by their peers, who best exemplifies the following characteristics:
- A thorough understanding of the law and its consistent application in legal practice.
- A commitment to integrity, fairness, and civility in all professional interactions.
- A strong dedication to professionalism, demonstrating respect for colleagues, the judicial system, and the rule of law.
- A willingness to share time and expertise, with a proven track record in:
- Mentorship of junior lawyers or law students.
- Contributing to legal education through teaching, writing, or speaking engagements.
- Actively participating in the legal community, including involvement in:
- The Peel Law Association (current membership required)
- Other professional associations, committees, or pro bono initiatives.
- An unwavering commitment to the highest ideals of the legal profession, serving as a role model to peers and the broader community.
To qualify for consideration, nominators and nominees must be current members of the Peel Law Association (PLA).
Nominations may include letters of support from other PLA members and community stakeholders, which are encouraged to be submitted alongside the nomination package.
Submission Guidelines:
Nominations must include a completed nomination form along with any supplementary materials, submitted by e-mail no later than the specified deadline, directed to library@plalawyers.ca.
